B2+ level

Since September 2022, the DELF assessment grid has changed for written production (PE, in French) and oral production (PO, in French). As of this date, scores are applied by level (in five criteria). These are as follows

By choosing Intense PLUS, you’re giving yourself the opportunity to strengthen your command of French in terms of pronunciation/grammar or to get completly ready to obtain DELF B2.

We won’t give you ready-made sentences to draw out, but we will help you develop a critical mind and an awareness of language (why I use condition instead of cause / consequence). PLUS will do everything in its power to help you achieve a B2+ mark in your DELF B2 exam.

In addition to intensive training, FTC Intense PLUS offers you the chance to reinforce a skill and actively prepare for the DELF exam. Session take place in July.

Training content

Organization

You’ll take general French classes and workshops during every session.

You will also be asked to do individual work, either on your own or with friends, in library or in a friendly setting, to help you build your independence and confidence in French. Trainers will accompany you if you work at the center, by appointment only.

Each month, we offer a totally immersive social activity. Our aim is to open you up to life in Paris and France, and to their cultures.

What we work on together

• Written and oral comprehension: What you understand.
• Written and oral production: What you think, how you said and write it.
• Exchange, share your feelings, your point of view in the respect of each one.

Evaluation

Two evaluation formats will be offered:

• in an evaluation grid, using which only the skills worked on are assessed, by degree of acquisition,
• in grades, i.e. on performance. Graded assessment takes place at the end of each session, using the DELF format.

Progression

What a CEFR level mean?

Levels A1 to C1, defined by the CEFR, enable our trainers to organize your progress as effectively as possible. Each level corresponds to an arrival point.

For example, when you’re at A1, it doesn’t mean that you’ve reached level A1, but that level A1 is your first step in your relationship with the French language.

Sample route

Explanation: I’m a rookie in French, I’m starting at A1, which is my first goal. During the second session I validate A2 level. At the third session, I validate B1.1 level. I pursue my road and go throught B1.2. At the end of the session, before a DELF Session or a Boost Session, I get B2.1 level. So in 5 sessions, without speaking French at the beginning, I can communicate freely in French, with your intelligence strengthened.

If I want to go even further, I can re-enroll and continue in B2.2 up to B2.3, ready to take the DELF B2.

Rest

If you’re a keen sportsman, you’ll need to take some time off. You need it too. A week’s vacation is also offered after every session, because the body (and especially the brain) also needs a rest. There is no classe in August and the last two weeks of December.

Repeating a session

Sometimes, during a session, you may find it more difficult to use French, or you may have a little less time to work on it. Re-leveling is perfectly normal and possible. We want you to progress at your own pace, with a solid foundation.
