DELF B1 Course Content & Methodology

According to the exam structure, we offer two main focuses: comprehension and giving an opinion / solving problems (production). We do not provide “ready-to-think” material. We accompany you to develop your own reflection in French, talking to your intelligence.

Developing Comprehension Skills

Oral Comprehension Training

For listening comprehension, in addition to helping you understand authentic audio documents (real extracts from radio programs and daily life), we use pronunciation techniques to accelerate your mastery of listening skills.

Written Comprehension Strategies

For reading comprehension, the aim is to familiarize students with reading authentic texts rapidly (current affairs) and mastering the strategy to adopt on the day of the exam.

Mastering Production Skills

Oral Production Practice

Oral production is the only individual test. Lasting 25 minutes (10 prep, 15 passation), it validates your ability to present yourself and solve a daily problem without preparation. The final exercise involves defending an opinion on a social issue (10 min prep), helping you understand exactly what examiners expect.

Written Production Techniques

We’ll discover that quantity is simple to achieve. We concentrate on substance, i.e., pragmatic competence: “When I write, is my message clear and argued?”

Beyond the Exam: Culture & Autonomy

French General Culture & Knowledge

General culture is key to your success in the DELF exam, especially B1. Documents are based on national current affairs (education, health, ecology, work…). Knowing the main themes helps immensely in production tests and serves as a great introduction to DELF B2.

Guided Personal Work

In connection with the weekly mock assessment (every Friday), you will produce personal work to consolidate the knowledge needed for the DELF B1. We help you navigate social issues, sometimes uncomfortable but always exciting.

Mock Exams & Assessment

At the end of each week, we offer a mock DELF B1 exam, designed and assessed according to France Éducation International criteria. This helps you get used to the format. You receive individual feedback with one target: obtaining B1+ marks.

At the end of the month, you receive an official document indicating coursework hours and a transcript of your grades.
