French Immersion in Paris: Learn the Language, Live the City
At FTC Paris, learning French extends beyond the classroom. Each month, students immerse themselves in the city through guided tours, hands-on workshops, neighborhood explorations, and social events – all designed to reinforce language learning in real-life situations.
What We’ve Done – Highlights from Our 2025 Activities
Three guided visits connected to classroom topics: an exhibition on the ideal school, between yesterday and today, at Magasins Généraux (Pantin), a tour of a waste recovery center in Paris, and a behind-the-scenes look at the future Paris metro lines. Each outing links real-life issues with language practice and discussion, fully aligned with our program.
Three experiences rooted in language and culture: an immersive visit to the EDF Foundation’s exhibition on the link between energy and climate change; a cultural outing to the Yves Saint Laurent Museum to explore how flowers inspired decades of work by a master of haute couture — followed by coffee near the Arc de Triomphe with a French high school teacher; and a delicious hands-on crêpe workshop for La Chandeleur — all in French, guided and student-led!
At FTC Paris, we prioritize authentic and respectful images. Most of our photos avoid showing faces directly, in line with our commitment to student privacy — unless explicit consent has been given.

Learning Through Experience
At FTC Paris, we believe the best way to learn French is to live it. That’s why our activities aren’t just extras — they’re essential. Each outing, workshop, or event is carefully designed to immerse you in the language, culture, and rhythm of Paris.
Whether you’re chatting with locals at a market, exploring street art in Belleville, or tasting cheeses in a food tour, you’re not just practicing grammar — you’re living the language. These real-world moments build confidence, fluency, and cultural intuition in ways a classroom alone never could.
“Instead of visiting a museum every time, discovering the future Paris metro in French, was informative, especially because I want to stay here!.”
— Benjamin, student from Canada
Pedagogical foundation
Our outings follow the action-oriented philosophy of modern language learning (as promoted by the CEFR), where learners are active participants in real-life communication — not passive recipients of content.
