What You’ll Learn in our A2 French Course

What I want to say

DELF refers to “pragmatic competence

Introducing Yourself: “Bonjour, je m’appelle Jane. J’ai 28 ans, je suis américaine et je travaille dans une école. J’habite à Paris depuis trois mois.”
Context: Meet and talk with French speakers.
Describing Events and Daily Life:
“Je prends le métro tous les jours pour aller au travail.”
Context: Talk about your routine or describe your week to a French friend.
Talking About the Past:
Le week-end dernier, je suis allé(e) au musée avec mes amis.
Context: Share simple stories and personal experiences.
Making and Responding to Requests:
“Est-ce que je peux essayer cette veste ?”
Context: In a shop, at the doctor’s, or with a host family.
Understanding Messages and Notices:
Arrêt de bus déplacé / Vente exceptionnelle demain
Context: Read signs, text messages, or announcements in real-life situations.

How I have to say it

DELF refers to “linguistic competence

Use full sentences with connectors and start using the past tense: “Je suis allé au marché.” | “Je n’aime pas le poisson, mais j’adore le fromage.” | “Où se trouve la gare Saint Lazare ?”
Improve Pronunciation: At A2, you begin to hear how real French sounds — not word by word, but in phrases.
You’ll get used to common reductions and start speaking more naturally, even if it’s still challenging (because you have to repeat, to talk a little bit slowly).
Build Everyday Vocabulary: You’ll learn words for daily life — food, places, transport, feelings. It gets easier, word by word! 😊
Continue to understand Standard, Polite, and Colloquial French: Learn to ask questions and make requests using polite forms like “Je voudrais…” or “Est-ce que je peux…”. Start to notice informal expressions, like “C’est un truc de ouf” — just for fun!
Speak clearly and respectfully in everyday situations.
